Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Pal

 Under the ageis of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi, a Krishi Vigyan Kendra was set up under the management of Satpuda Vikas Mandal, Pal on August, 1st 1984.  This NGO was chaired by Hon’ble Late. Balasaheb Madhukarrao Chaudhari, Ex-Chairman of Legislative Assembly, of Maharashtra State. At present chairman of NGO is Hon’ble Shri. Shirish M. Choudhary, Ex-MLA of Maharashtra state. The Host Institute is working in remote tribal area since 1949 in the field of education, health, infrastructure development, agriculture and subsidiary occupation, cottage industries more particularly for tribal people.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra is an institutional project of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) to demonstrate Science and Technology input of Agricultural Research and education on the farmer’s field and in the rural areas with the help of multi disciplinary team of scientists.

 

How to Reach KVK PAL

Objectives

  • To Promptly demonstrate the latest agricultural technologies to the farmers as well as extension workers of State Departments of Agricultural Horticulture / Fisheries / Animal Science / Non Government Organization with a view to reduce the time lag between the technology generation and its adoption.

  • To test and verify the technologies in the socio-economic conditions of the farmers with a view to study the production constraints to modify the technologies to make them appropriate.

  • To impart training to the practicing farmers / farm women, rural youth and field level extension functionaries by following the method of “teaching by doing” and “learning by doing”.

  • To back-up with training and communication support to the district level development department, viz. Agriculture / Horticulture / Fisheries / Animal Science and Non Government Organizations in their extension programmes.
